Humanity Dethroned out NOW

KillZone Records is extremely proud to announce the release of a classic metal album. New Jersey based thrash/prog/metal act Dark Empire’s sophomore release ‘Humanity Dethroned’. Formed by Matt Moliti (lead and rhythm guitars, death vocals) in 2004, the current band includes Jens Carlsson (Savage Circus, Persuader) lead vocals, Andrew Atwood (lead, rhythm guitar, death vocals) and Samus (Suspyre, Mutiny) drums. Influenced by Symphony X and Rage, Moliti created Dark Empire to be what in his eyes would be the epitome of the perfect metal band: thrashy riffs, blazing solos and aggressive yet melodic vocals, full of energy and emotion. ‘Humanity Dethroned’ is a powerful metal album with the classic metal spirit driving huge, powerful and agressive thrash riffs with enduring melodies that lift the album, ‘Humanity Dethroned’ is a perfect balance of writing, melody, aggressive, thrash riffs: A Metal album that connects to the true spirit of metal in all of us.
No strangers to success this early in their career, the band’s self released debut album ‘Distant Tides’ placed #2 in the year end "best indie release of 2006" list), in BW&BK magazine scoring an impressive 9.5/10. ‘Humanity Dethroned has been mastered by Mika Jussla at Finnvox Studios (Children Of Bodom, Nightwish) and is out now on KillZone Records in North America and Europe.

Its been a long time coming: Dark Empire 'Humanity Dethroned' CD near completion

Its been a long time coming.....and its nearly here. The CD is nearly ready and let me tell you, its definitely worth it. Dark Empire are a band to watch they have made a classic metal album. Its a great marriage of the modern and the traditional styles of melodies: Heavy riffs that are steeped in thrash and harsh vocals that are very pervasive in modern metal, then mix those elements with a great lead vocalist whose voice and the melodies hark back to the late 70's and early 80's. A bit Dark Tranquility circa Character, Arch Enemy, a bit of Metallica/Megadeth you chose, and add a dash of Priest influence combine that metal drive with the wizardry of say Symphony X and that's Dark Empire.
What's great about Dark Empire is there music has the potential to touch a great cross section of fans. The playing is very accomplished for a younger band. These guys play with great dexterity, confidence and aplomb, but the end result is not necessarily to bedazzle you with technical playing, but to really hit that spot with great metal. Metal that makes you wanna rock. Its up lifting and epic without being grandiose and pompous and with such a strong sound that gives it that metal justification to be great. I believe that such is the appeal of Dark Empire.
'Humanity Dethroned' just has something for fans of metal it has just that right amount of grit in its sound and power that fans of melodic death metal especially those who are fans of that 'Gothenburg Sound' would like yet its riffing is pure thrash based with some progressive flavor. Yet, also 'Humanity Dethroned' in its classic metal approach would be eaten up by fans of Megadeth or Metallica, or Testament etc, etc.
Dark Empire are band worthy of your attention and time if you are a true fan of metal. With 'Humanity Dethroned' KillZone Records offers you the chance to own this 10 track, 55 minute classic metal album. The CD is shipping in days back from the makers we would like to offer you the chance to pre-order here:

Cover Art for New and upcoming releases revealed

We at KillZone Records have been working hard on some upcoming releases that cover both CD and Digital formats to give you some great options and music to choose from.
Our first cover is from Lacryma Sanguine with the digital EP 'As The Autumn Ends' which will be available on iTunes very soon.
Lacryma Sanguine are the Label's first doom metal release, and are a band to watch.
Lacryma Sanguine are a Doom Metal band taking insparation from such bands as: Swallow The Sun, Saturnus, My Dying Bride, Katatonia, DayLight Dies, Funeral, October Tide, combining extra elements such as violin, cello and flute. The 3 track EP features over 22 minutes of weighty doom. The track listing is:
Her Bloody Wings, As The Autumn Ends, One Last Kiss.

Next we have The Raygun Girls who are currently working on their first full length for KillZone Records. We anticipate great things for this band who having undergone some difficult times have seen the band burnt back to their core and have actually gotten stronger because of this. The album is called 'Dirt Collector' and if the rough mixes are anything to go by this is gonna be a great metal album that blends contemporary elements and attitude to some fat metal riffing with hard beats and heavy, catchy grooves.
